Profile

1997 BA Hons in Visual Art at Winchester School of Art

After leaving Remarks a group of Winchester School of Arts graduates, I was one of the resident artists in Studio 8 at New Greenham Arts, Newbury  from 2000 until 2006.
I now work from my studio at home in Fair Oak ,Eastleigh, Hampshire.

Until 2011 I  exhibited annually in Newbury in the Insight exhibition and as part of the West Berkshire Open Studios scheme.
From 2000-2006 I exhibited at New Greenham Arts in the Studio 8 annual exhibition. In more recent years I have exhibited at Arlington Arts in Newbury.

Previous exhibitions have included Abbotsbury Studios in Dorset as a student of John Skinner's classes, a solo exhibition at The Diorama in London and Southampton City Art Gallery open exhibitions.

Since 2011 I have exhibited with members of the Red Hot Press in Southampton and also as part of Hampshire Open Studios.

The Royal Berkshire Hospital owns two of my large scale works which can be seen online in The Public Catalogue Foundation [email protected]

Five large works are owned by Abacus Engineering in Newbury, and other works are privately owned.

I see art as an exploration of the gap between what we see and how we experience what we see. Sometimes external referents are easily seen in the work  but at other times they are not visible and the work seems in flux. I don't find it useful to accept that a work is to be either figurative or abstract, each piece has to be approached according to its own needs.
