Postcards
The postcards are part of an ongoing project by Cowprint a group of artists who are members of Red Hot Press in Southampton. Each postcard that I make is a monoprint and exists only as an original handmade print. Some have pieces of collage, others have handwritten text but all use the methods that I generally employ in my working processes - a combination of chance, layering and the use of fragments. There is often a combination of both linocut and collograph in any one print. Each piece is then a miniature work which sometimes reflects and sometimes informs other work that I might be engaged in. But the postcards are just that - small 10cm by 15cm unique cards that can be sent through the post , there are no scaled up versions of them.
